in the wilds. The architecture is Moorish and graceful -
high arches, barrel-vault ceilings and tiled floors create
an atmosphere of spaciousness and tranquility.

crafted, Rhodesian teak furniture and walls decorated with
original African carvings and paintings. "Love canopies" in
hand-painted fabric have also been erected above all the
'extra-long' beds. All rooms have their own private terrace/balcony,
are fully air-conditioned, have en-suite bathrooms and complimentary
stocked mini-bars. Overhead punkah-punkah fans complete the
nostalgic ambiance of an Africa of yesteryear
There are four private suites each
with individual swimming pools and outside garden patio.
All rooms overlook the Chobe River and adjacent Caprivi floodplain.
Facilities within the lodge include a well-stocked curio
shop and wildlife reference library. The stylish Tshwene
bar which, complete with full-sized Victorian pool table,
overlooks the floodplains, and the boma (outdoor eating area
enclosed by reed walls) under large mahogany trees on the
banks of the Chobe River. Like the rooms, the boma has been
furnished in teak and leather.
Safari activities at Chobe are diverse and exciting and
tailored to suit individual requirements. Game drives are
conducted in open four wheel-drive vehicles, normally early
morning and late afternoon and under the leadership of qualified
guides.
The Chobe floodplain is renown for its concentration of
buffalo and elephant and the late afternoon in particular,
provides spectacular viewing.
Game viewing and fishing by small
boats is also a special Chobe experience. Additionally, there
are also the sunrise and sunset cruises aboard the Mosi o'Tunya,
enabling you to view wildlife that congregate at the waters
edge at very close range in all safety, and which provide
spectacular wildlife viewing and vistas of an African sunset.
For the true lover of unspoilt Africa, these safaris will
capture the magnificence and very real essence of Botswana's
natural landscape and wildlife heritage.
